I was sooooo excited about the new China Glaze collection from the first moment I laid eyes on the promo pictures! It’s not very surprising however, this collection has everything I like: nail polish + China Glaze + Christmas + glitters + snow polish + polar bears.
I knew that I wouldn’t be able to restrain myself and get almost all of them. And this is exactly what happened. I bought 10 polishes out of the 12, then I gave one away as a present. Fortunately Nailland Hungary offered me the missing 3, so that I can show you all of them in one giant post today. ;)
I’ll show them by finish, let’s start with foils.
This is the obligatory red in the collection, but this time it’s not a boring creme, but a shimmery deep, glowing from the inside type of red. It’s insanely pigmented, covers perfectly with one coat (I used 2 for the pictures) and it dries quickly. Congrats to China Glaze, this polish is just flawless. The perfect Christmas red by all means.
Santa Red My List
And we have one more on the burgundy side. The finish, the consistency and the quality are the same as in the case of the previous polish. I couldn’t choose one of them, they’re both very gorgeous. And the quality is really something I could only rave about. And it’s definitively a one-coater.
This is the first of the 3 polishes I didn’t buy myself. I saw a lot of swatches about it previously and I just didn’t fell in love with it. However once I applied it, I kind of started to like it, but maybe I’m a bit biased now that I got it for free. Quality-wise it’s also perfect though. One coater.
Mingle With Kringle
I didn’t want to get another gold polish, but this one just had to be mine. Because it’s not a boring gold (as if something like that exists :D), it has bronze flecks in it! Wearing this polish is like sitting next to the Christmas tree, with my belly full, looking at the fireplace and being very very happy. It needed two coats for perfect coverage.
So Blue Without You
Now this is very unusual to see a blue like this one in a Christmas collection, maybe this is why I love it so much. It needs to coats to cover perfectly. I applied some of Your Present Required over it too, I just couldn’t help it. :)
Let’s see the microglitters. *_*
Put A Bow On It
A true fuchsia microglitter. Omnonnom. It covers perfectly after 3 coats, but you can use it as a top coat too. It’s a veeeery bold shade, I like it so so so much!
All Wrapped Up
Another microglitter, another fabolous shade. This purple-y blue blew my heart away. I want a Christmas tree decorated with only this color! It’s a 3-coater too. By the way I think that ‘Silent Night’ would be this shade, if songs had one.
This Is Tree-Mendous
This is the second polish I didn’t get for myself. I talked myself out of it, because it’s green, But why, oh why?! I’m so happy that I finally did get it, because it’s one of my favourite of the bunch. It’s so so so pretty with the green ad gold glitters! And it’s a two-coater. ;)
Aaaaaan finally the glitters. :)
Your Present Required
I didn’t want to get this one. No-no. Actually, I didn’t want any glitter from this collection. But when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I’s so pretty, I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. *_*
I applied one(!) coat over China Glaze First Mate. It’s quite dense, but very easy to apply.
Bells Will Be Blinging
The third one I didn’t buy. First, because it’s a glitter, second, it had tiny bars in it and I don’t really like them generally. I applied it over some light blue to make the colors and the holo effect pop. It covered so well with one coat, that I can easily imagine it to be fully opaque after 2 or 3.
Be Merry, Be Bright
Okay, I did get this glitter, but only because it was part of the Be Merry! miniset, which was a very good deal. This polish has purple and pink glitters in it. To be honest, I’ve seen more interesting glitters than this one several times, so I don’t really think that it’s a must have. Only if you want the miniset, because that’s a veeeeeery good deal. ;)
And finally something that can’t be categorised. :D
There’s Snow One Like You
It was my most wanted polish of all of them. I’ve seen so many posts and pictures about it! Some liked it, some didn’t, but I think it’s the most interesting polish in the whole bunch. Is it worth to buy it? Definitively. Will I use it a lot? I don’t think so. But I would repurchase it anytime. And yes, I know that it’s chunky and bulky and basically a white mess, but IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW!!!!!
And it wasn’t difficult to apply at all. I applied two simple coats and that was it. AND IT LOOKS LIKE SNOOOOOW!!!! :D
So these were the polishes of the China Glaze 2013 holiday collection. I like that they pulled out some shades that are very unexpected. I don’t think I could name some favourites, but I can say, that the foils have perfect quality, the microglitters are absolutely gorgeous and I really really like Your Present Required for a glitter. And of course There’s Snow One Like You is the polish of the year for me. :)
I already loved Autumn Nights, but now I’m completely a fan of China Glaze. I hope their spring collection will be as good as these Fall/Winter ones. :)
