Even though I still show you lots of dark polishes, I feel spring too, believe me. ;) Ever since Nailland opened I was looking at the candy coloured Barry M sand polishes, but I always delayed buying them, I was waiting for spring. But it’s March now, so it’s totally justifiable to have them all. :D The first one I tried was the yellow one, but I so disliked it once applied that I didn’t even take pictures of it, I guess I want to give it another go, maybe it was just me, I don’t know. So next time I reached for the mint one. I’m still in love with this shade, I just can’t get bored of it. I already had it in every single finish, and now I have a sand one too. :)
I had really high expectations about it, because I usually really like a matte, but gritty finish (and yes, I think about the matte Golden Rose Holiday polishes :D). Even so I was a bit disappointed in this one. Not because of the colour, but the quality.
It covers with two coats, there’s no problem with that and it’s easy to apply, but it dries sooooo slowly. Argh. I had to reapply it like 5 times, because I always ruined it somehow, I just couldn’t wait for it to be dry and that doens’t happen to me a lot.
After it finally dried, it became undestructable, but still….if I don’t have time for this, then I doubt that anyone else has. But if you really like the shade AND you are a really patient person, then go for it, it’s beautiful.
My other problem with it was its finish. I don’t like that it remained satiny. If it were a full on matte I’m sure I would like it better.
I’m a little confused now, because I love a lot of aspects of this polish (shade, sand finish), but some proprieties of it drives me crazy (very long drying time, satin finish). After all of that I would say that I would repurchase it only if Golden Rose didn’t come out with its own mint Holiday in the next few months.
