China Glaze – Road Trip

This post is also available in: Magyar

I have a very ambigous relationship with China Glaze lately. On one hand I’ve been craving hopelessly for this brand for so long that I can’t fall out of love with it even though (and on the other hand) their last few collections didn’t rock my world. The promo pictures always look dull, but of course you can find gems in every collection when you see it in person. This is what happened to me with the Road Trip collection too: first I found it boring, then Spring came and I have half of the collection. :)

I applied three thin coats of all of them, but most of you could easily go with only two, if you apply thicker layers. Some polishes of the collection lean to a crelly finish, which makes the application easier, but the other few are quite difficult to handle.

Pinking Out The Window

I thought that this polish would be brighter, but it turned out more sophisticated on the nails. It’s just the perfect girly, Saturday afternoon picnic kinda polish. :)

I Brake For Colour

I’m still surprised, but I like this coral-y red way more then I thought I would – it just looks so exciting! It’s one of the crelly polishes, so application is easier too.

Trip Of A Lime Time

The weirdest shade of the bunch is this yellow-y green. We, who really like these kind of shades, usually aren’t the majority, but this is what makes it even more special. And you have to really like special, if you go for this shade, cause this one was quite difficult to apply.

My Way Or The Highway

Teal was a big hit this winter and now we have a lighter version of it, which is perfect for spring. This one is a crelly too, so even the easy application makes me love this shade even more.

Dashboard Dreamer

In the next few months – like in every spring and summer – my favourite colour will be light blue. And Dashboard Dreamer has some subtle sparkle to it too, but even that doesn’t make the bad memories of the application go away. :/

Boho Blues

Fortunately my favourite of these six polishes has a crelly finish too, so I sure will use Boho Blues quite a few times – this periwinkle blue is simply perfection. :)

So basically, if you like any of the colours above and you feel like fighting for them, then go for it and buy them. But if you lack the patience, then be careful, these might not be your best choices.

Availability: Nailland Hungary

I got the polishes for testing purposes, but it does not alter my opinion about them.
