Negative space Laces

Negative space manicures are very popular lately – which I can totally understand. But what is it exactly? It’s when the naked nails peek through the desing. You can achieve it witn nail vinyls, stamping or even free hand design. That’s it, it’s that simple yet so creative! Since I purchased this gorgeous Laces plate from Pet’la Plate I knew I wanted to do something like this with it. I went for the most simple version: I stamped my bare nails with white.

The white Mundo de Unas stamping polish wasn’t up for this task, since after the scraping there was no polish left in the bigger parts of the pattern. So instead I chose my old Essence one to work with and it did the job perfectly. My only concern is that just a few hours after the manicure was done, it started chipping even though I applied two generous coats of top coat. Another thing that could make your life easier, if you plan to recreate something like this manicure: use a very soft and squishy stamper, so that the pattern won’t distort.

I really love this technique, I most certainly will use it a couple of times in the next few weeks. :) You can order Pet’la plates from their webshop of from Nailland Hungary.

Very pretty! I really want to try this but I don’t have any lace patterns on my stamping plates. It really sucks that the mani started to chip so soon!ReplyCancel
