In the last few weeks I have received quite a few Moyra polishes to test. It was a very good timing from the distributor, because – after purchasing every single one of the holo Moyras, I wouldn’t have bought any more polish from the brand for some time anyway. And I would have missed how the new Gel Look polsihes are. And that would have been a great mistake.
Because: I finally have faith in cream polishes again! They still aren’t my favourite, but at least I don’t hesitate to use them anymore. Because, let’s face it, you need to make some compromises when applying creme polishes. I don’t say that these new Moyras are perferct, but I believe that there are different types of compromises.
Let’s start with the colour worth even fighting for. Strawberry red. I love it. Me, the biggest fan of every superdark, extraglittery holo multichrome sand polish, I’m swept off oy my feet by a shade I would never even reach for, if it were up to me. *_*
However do not forget the quality, because almost every creme polish fails in that field. But not this one, no-no. :):):)
Let’s start with its flaw: it dries slooooooowly. Very slowly. (Of course a quick drying top coat helps a lot with this problem.) Yet it’s still the error I’m most likely to forgive, since I always read or watch a movie while my nails are drying, so time, I have plenty. And other then this, I haven’t found any other problem with this polish. It covers beautifully with two coats, it’s easy to apply and it doesn’t streak. Like, at all. It’s not too thick, actually almost a little bit too runny, the brush is perfection: flat and not too wide. All in all, this polish is what I’ve always hoped for….concerning cream polishes of course. :)
I got relatively lot of red/pink/lilac shades, so I was thinking to show them next to each other, so you can see the shades compared to each other.
From left tor right: 923 (Lola), 920, 909 and 919.
My favourite is still the strawberry one, but the other three looks gorgeous too. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying wow, these are the most special shades I have ever seen, more like wow, these were so easy to apply!
The orange-y red Lola is a little bit different from the others, because it has a very subtle sheen to it, which makes the shade more vibrant and alive. The two berry shades are rather autumn colours, but that has never ever been a negative feauture. :)
All in all: Wow. I can only say that you (me included) should forget every single preconception that you (me included) may already have, given that these polishes are cheap in price and in looking at the same time, and let’s try to be more open-minded about them, because they’re really really really good polishes. :)
