IEUV – So Cabaret

This post is also available in: Magyar

Perspective usually helps to form an opinion, even if we don’t always realize that. But what do I mean by that? I mean that I swatch and swatch and swatch and – since I’m an NPA to my core – I love or at least try to love as many polishes as I can. But some collections are harder to love – which I don’t realize until I come across one that blows me away. And Il Etait Un Vernis collections are usually the ones to open my eyes to the fact that this brand is just so easy.

Easy to apply, easy to shoot, easy to edit and easy to love. These polishes work. They work every time, with every collection, with every shade. Sure, we don’t (we can’t) always get the most unique shades, but the consistency of the brand’s quality makes IEUV one of my all time favourite nail polish brands. I mean, just look at the So Cabaret collection. I could swatch these polishes so effortlessly, I can’t even believe. They glide on the nails, they are pigmented, their formula is a dream, the brush is perfection, I barely ever need to clean up the edges and they look just right.

Okay, back to blogging for realz: we have 5 polishes, a red, a green, a black, a Chanel Péridot and a very interesting glitter topper. I applied all of them in 2 coats – except for the topper which was one coat.

Curtain Call

Curtain Call has a slight jelly in its finish, that makes it super shiny. Your everyday red is stirred up with some pink microflakes to give it an interesting edge.

Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus reminds me a lot of a cooler and holo Chanel Péridot – which is always a plus for me. The base is an antique gold that shifts to blue, turquoise and green depending on the angle and the lights.

It’s Showtime, Ladies!

It’s Showtime, Ladies! has a clear base full of small and even smaller black and holo square-ish glitters. It looks best on a lighter base, I applied it on IEUV #imanatural. I’m a sucker for black toppers, so this polish is by far my favourite of the collection. <3

Offstage is a pine green with some very subtle holo. I always thought that dark greens can look so chic, elegant and sophisticated and IEUV now proved me right. :)

Pretty in Ink

Pretty in Ink is rock’n roll in a bottle and a must have for everyone with a tattoo. It’s black as ink and has a very velvety holo that won’t blow your mind, but will make your nails look so cool.

Omg, how much I love IEUV. *_* This brand is simply the French style in nail polish bottles. Every shade they create is SO in style, so classy, so chic. They’re never too much, never too show off-ish, wearing them you can be sure that even Anna Wintour would bless your choice of colour.

The collection is available at their own webshop or at stockists like Nailland, Nailmail and Hypnotic Polish.
