Femme Fatale – Enchanted Fables – Villains

This post is also available in: Magyar

Twenty-two polishes in one collection, folks. T w e n t y – t w o. My nails have grown 2 mm by the time I finished swatching. So this will probably be a very long post, grab your coffee and sandwiches and maybe your mosquito-repellent too, because we’ll be here till summer.

So, the new Femme Fatale collection, Enchanted Fables – Villains, was inspired by legendary, evil villans from our childhood tales. The idea is fantastic, the execution is plenty.

Let’s forget about holo today, we have lots of thermals/thermos and shimmers. Actually the collection consists of “only” 21 shades, but we have a bonus polish that is a gift if you order the entire collection.

But let’s just start somewhere and continue until we – hopefully – cover all of the shades. So, themals:

Bluebeard is a bright blue with blue shimmer when cold and it turns into a pearlescent and very light yellowy-green when warm. (3 coats)

Hook is a bluish purple with blue shimmer when cold and turns into a lighter violet- pink with a blue glow when warm. A must have for everyone who has ever laid eyes on Hook in One Upon A Time. ;) And yeah, unfortunately I forgot to shoot a “transition” pic. (3 coats)

Madame Medusa

Madame Medusa is a bright (almost neon) pink coral when cold and becomes an opalescent pink when warm. The color-changing in this one is rather spectacular. (3 coats)

Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts is a pinkish red when cold and turns into a lighter pink with green shimmer when warm. (3 coats)

Rumpelstiltskin is a greyish blue with pink shimmer when cold and becomes a light grey/yellow beige when warm. It needs to be very warm to fully change though – it should be way more beige than on my nails – and I was soaking my hand in hot water. (3 coats)

The Fox & The Cat

The Fox & The Cat is an orange with gold shimmer when cold and a greenish yellow when warm. This is the shade that makes you dip your fingers in your icy lemonade in August (even if it’s gross). (3 coats)

Ursula is a teal when cold and turns into a purple-y pink with a slight turquoise glow when warm. It is one of my absolute favourites, the pink looks a m a z i n g with the shimmer. I wore it at least 3 times already. (3 coats)

Wicked Stepsisters

Wicked Stepsisters is a bold fuchsia when cold that transitions to a soft pink with green gold shine when warm. (3 coats)

Wicked Witch

Wicked Witch is a bright green/turquoise when cold and turnes into lime when warm. Looks amazing both ways. *_* (3 coats)

And now onto those colours that don’t change depending on the temperature:

Big Bad Wolf

Big Bad Wolf is a medium grey with a bold green overlay. (3 coats)

Cruella is a beautiful warm brown with red to gold shifting glass flecks. (2 coats)

Hades is a bright blue with glass flecks and a slight turquoise hint. (3 coats)

Headless Horseman

Headless Horseman is an inky blue jelly full of red-gold-green shifting glass flecks. Damn, it looks pretty! *_* I’m pretty sure it could be also used as a topper over darker shades. (min. 3 coats)

Maleficient has a deep, plum base with a beautiful green shimmer. Definitely a fave, such a deep, vampy polish! <3 (2 coats)

Scar is a rich mustard crelly with a pink glow. (3 coats)

Sir Hiss

Sir Hiss is an almost neon, bright lime with a copper glow. *_* (3 coats)

The Blind Witch

The Blind Witch is a vibrant teal with gold shimmer. (3 coats)

The Huntsman

The Hustman is a rosy brown with reddish undertones and some blue glow. (min. 3 coats)

The Mouse King

The Mouse King is an olive shimmerfest with a gold shine. I like it a lot, but I wish it were a tad more pigmented. (3 coats)

The Pied Piper

The Pied Piper has a sea-green jelly base full of pink-gold-green shifting glass flecks. (3 coats)

Yzma is a very vibrant cool-toned purple with soft reddish glow and blue glass flecks. (3 coats)

The Fairy Godmother

And last, but not least we have the bonus polish, The Fairy Godmother: it has a very – and I mean veeeeeeery – lightly tinted blue base full of red iridescent glitters, silver holographic glitters and red-green shifting flakes. I had visible nail lines even after three coats, but it is meant to be kind of see-through, so okay I guess.

…and to get it all you have to do is purchase all of the 21 shades above (exclusively from the FF webshop). Honestly I’m not a big fan of this idea, who in their right mind would purchase such a big collection? I guess it won’t be the most popular idea in the nail polish world and deservedly so.

So how about turning it into a prize? Comment down below your opinion about this collection (faves, hate-its, anything actually) until February 8th and one lucky person will win this – otherwise gorgeous – shade.

Wooow, that was a LOT of polish. Of course I have some favourites (how could I not – 22 shades people!): Ursula is my number one – I still have no idea why, but this polish got me hard. :):) But I really liked Wicked Witch, Headless Horseman (that shimmer though *_*), Maleficient (that shade is b o m b) and Sir Hiss.

The other thing that kind of bugs me is that almost all of these shades are a three-coater. Can’t help it, I love me some good pigmentation.

The collection is limited and will be available for pre-order only between February 1st and 5th HERE and later it will be available (except the bonus polish) at stockists.

I don’t like thermals too much. I have never seen one where I’d like both colors. I assume on my nails they’d be mostly cold, but still.I heard that when they turn old, the pigment stops transitioning, I wonder what color they become then.
Headless horseman looks simply amazing and is my favorite by far.
The topper looks pretty, but I hate wearing glitters. I maybe use my glitter toppers 3 times a year so I’ll never buy them again, lesson learned :)
    Great swatches as always!ReplyCancel

I love the inspiration for this collection but I’m not a fan of thermals. They aren’t fun when you have short nails and they show only one colour most of the time. Having said that, I love Wicked Witch, I love that shade of green. Beautiful swatches <3ReplyCancel

I love Femme Fatale’s thermals so I’m very happy there are so many in this collection. Your swatches are always beautiful :)ReplyCancel

Amazing post as usual! Thank you Edina :)
I really liked Headless Horseman ans The Pied Piper and the Fairy Godmother shade is right up my alley too.
But the way to get it – buying the whole collection – really puts me off. First of all, because this collection is huge. Why would I buy 21 bottles of polish to get 22nd?
Even my mind of a polish hoarder keeps telling me it’s a weird idea :)ReplyCancel

Long-time lurker reporting for duty! :D

I guess I like the idea of thermal polishes, but the VNL effect is very offputting.

I’m always a sucker for greens, so The Mouse King and Wicked Witch are my favourites (I’m slightly tempted to trial WW anyway to see if I wouldn’t hate this thermal polish). The Blind Witch and Sir Hiss are also lovely, but I don’t know how much day-to-day use they would actually see. Overall this wasn’t really my collection (compared to The Little Mermaid which I really loved and could’ve bought all the polishes – except the thermal haha).

The topper is imho the best polish of the collection, but I do love my glitters.ReplyCancel

I love all these thermals. I would love to wear them in winter most. The other polishes are very pretty, I like when there is shimmer that is different from base polish color. Very large collections such as this is difficult to buy unless you know it is coming later and you can save for it.ReplyCancel

Living for Ursula and Headless Horseman. I think the latter reminds me of coronation a lot though!!ReplyCancel

    Hello, my darling Edina!

I`m sorry for my english, i`m not good on it.
    I enjoy this shades:

The Fox & The Cat (I like thermo and green so much!)
Ursula (i don`t like pink, but in cold this teal is so gorgeous!)
    Wicked Witch (green/turquoise – c-c-c-combo!) =D
Headless Horseman (this shimmer is making me cry! I think it`s something about coronation)
Sir Hiss (this shade is so bright! I`m in love with bright green! Was I already said that I love green? =D Is it a little bit similar to your The New Nude?)
The Mouse King (I like such complicated colours on my nails)

And Cruella is my hate-its, i don`t like this colour at all.ReplyCancel

Hello. Can you compare Sir Hiss and Colors by Llarowe – Radioactive? Looks like they are very similar.ReplyCancel
